succulent.

Did I mention that I LOVE succulents?  It seems to be one plant that I doesn't die right after I get it, and their petite, unique shapes make these plants one of my favorites.  I caught these guys on sale the other day at my local lowe's for $1 a piece and could not resist! I chose a large glass terrarium for the large ones and then split these others into some smaller ceramic pots I made in college.

 I also picked up this cool coral cactus!

painted cork coasters.

 For this project you will need:
*acrylic paint
*sharpie marker
 *cork coasters around $2 at your local craft store
*masking tape to tape off stripes, etc.
*Krylon Crystal Clear acrylic coating (finishing spray)

This project is super easy and allows for so much variation! Grab your paint, cork, and markers and go for it!

 

birds of a feather flock together.

Growing up my sister had a strange fascination with those little mushroom birds..you know, the ones that you can find in the floral section of a craft store for wreaths, etc? Anyway she loved those things, not sure what she really did with them, but they were her favorite.  We spotted some the other day and she ran over to them SO excited- she quickly remembered her fascination with them years ago... AND we decided to make a necklace with them!

We used real twigs and then painted them white. 

Wrapped wire around both ends of twig leaving room to loop the chain through.

Hot glued the little bird onto the twig.

And used leather cording as the chain.

 

10 little birds...

My parents just recently got 10 baby chickens to raise for eggs! They are so precious and I never knew how fascinating watching these little things could be.  AND here's a recipe for a twist on the traditional haystack... nests!

CHOCOLATE/PEANUT BUTTER NESTS

1 cup(5 ounces) semi sweet chocolate chips
1 cup peanut butter chips
2 tbsp unsalted butter
2 cups (4 ounces) chow- mien noodles or pretzel sticks
1 1/4 cup slices almonds
eggs- almond or peanut m&m's
sweetened coconut
powdered sugar

1.Line baking sheet with wax paper
2. Using a double boiler, melt chocolate and butter together, stirring until smooth, gently stir in noodles and nuts.
3. Drop mixture by spoonfuls onto paper, make an indention in the top for eggs. Sprinkle nests with powdered sugar and coconut, then place eggs!
4. Let clusters set about 1 hour
