so you probably new I was going to make this.

These things are all over Pinterest and I just had to make one for myself and I cannot wait to take it to my art classroom!

 

   Instead of running the crayons through a hot glue gun, I used a different technique that seemed to look just as cool!  I unwrapped about 80 crayons- personal preference that took WAY too much time. I used a box of 64 and then had some extras of my favorite colors.  After the unwrapping the crayons I hot glued them across my canvas and alternated them.  I then got out my handy hair dryer- and the crayons started melting immediately! It seriously only took a second or two for the crayons to start looking glossy and then its up to you how much you want to control! You can control where the dripping goes by blowing it certain directions with the blow dryer. This was definitely a cool fun project, even if everybody is doing it, so give it a try!

I recently bought a thrift store picture frame and its mat board needed some attention before I framed anything in it.  So I pulled out my maps.  I cut a piece of map that fit the mat board perfectly and mod podged it on.  It was good as new and was much more intriguing to look at.

I had been wanting to frame the vows that Shane and I said at our wedding, so I printed them out and framed them in my new frame!

So our house has too closely resembled an art studio lately and it was time to do something about it.  I actually suggested buying some sort of cabinet, but Shane said why buy it when you can build it? Or HE could build it.. So Shane put his carpenter skills to work and built me a lovely box. A place where I can put all of my projects and miscellaneous items that I am planning to create something with! He used only scrap wood that we have had as leftovers from our barn remodel- which makes this box even more impressive. Thanks Shane!
